If you browse my reviews, you will see it isn't often. I will punch 5 stars, but I love everything about this place. From the quaint atmosphere, the ladies running the show to the food. In particular, the Egusi soup with pounded yam. Granted, this has been my first and only experience with this dish, but I most definitely have found a new favorite. So much so I researched hoping to find a recipe I could handle only to discover a lot more goes into proper preparation of this dish than I care to so much as attempt. I am not sure how its possible the dish could be prepared any better or more authentic than these folks make it. It really is that good. As far as service I typically do well in most establishments. Chalk it up to curiosity with a good dose of respect and a generous heaping of appreciation. If you like spicy foods and Spanish dishes but have never tried this place or this type foods, give it a shot. You just might find a new favorite. Be nice to the ladies behind the counter and you just might wrap one of the best down-home experiences you could enjoy in life.

So good, so nice. Explain what you want and they will get it right. Will return! Loved the boiled yam bread. The hospital staff on the 4th floor of Hoke Hosp. really got me interested in the cuisine. Two female nurses & one male nurse knew what they were talking about. I hope they know about this new place.

This place is so good, they give very big potions of jollof rice and a lot of fufu which is really enjoyable for me, we drove 27 minutes here to try them, this my second time coming and they are as good as last time, I'm dominican and this kind of food is very close to ours when it comes go the flavors . As soon as I got home I added some avocado and banana to eat with it, I'm so full with just 2/5 of the plate haha

This is truly authenticate African cuisine and I love that it has not been watered down to fit the American palate. The flavors are bold and the spice levels are on point. Because of the intricacies associated with preparing these dishes, I recommend dining in when you have time to spare or consider ordering ahead.
